西装革履的男人涌入，为首者亮出证件：“Interpol. We need that journal as evidence in an international **uggling case.”（国际刑警，我们需要这本日记作为国际走私案的证据）

    “Not so fast.” 曹思悦的声音从门口传来。她换了套黑色西装，长发利落盘起，气场却依旧摄人。“According to the Vienna Convention on Cultural Property, that journal belongs to the Chinese government.”（根据《关于文化财产的维也纳公约》，这本日记属于中国政府）她举起平板电脑，“And I have the legal documents to prove it.”

    卡特博士赞许地点头：“Miss Cao is right. We've already coordinated with the Chinese embassy.”（曹小姐说得对，我们已经和中国大使馆协调好了）

    看着国际刑警无奈离开，我终于松了口气：“你怎么找到这里的？”

    曹思悦狡黠一笑：“Your phone GPS gave you away. Besides,” 她举起另一本日记，封面上印着东印度公司的徽章，“I found the second half of the story in the basement safe.”（你的手机定位暴露了你。而且，我在地下室保险箱里找到了故事的后半部分）

    她翻开新日记，英语带着难以察觉的颤抖：“The artifacts were meant to be destroyed, but someone wanted to use them for... something unspeakable.”（那些文物本应被销毁，但有人想利用它们做…… 不可告人的事）

    夜色渐深，我们站在大英博物馆的台阶上。曹思悦望着馆内灯火：“The real adventure is just beginning. We need to find the remaining artifacts before they fall into the wrong hands.”（真正的冒险才刚刚开始。我们得在文物落入坏人手中前找到它们）

    “我们？” 我挑眉。

    她眨眨眼，伦敦腔带着笑意：“Unless you're backing out? After all, qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum.”（除非你想退出？毕竟，想要和平，必先备战）

    我笑了笑，握紧手中的
